I asked the other day about my starter. I rewired the ingition with one of those start and choke type 6 connection swithch. I wired it just like this boat shop said. I did get the boat to turn over but did not fire. I think I flooded the motor also. I tried to start the next day it turned over once and than I wouldn't because the starter is not popping up and engaging the fly wheel but the starter is still turning. Could it be that the battery needs charged. I did have the motor running prior to all this. I am pretty sure I wired it right I check the power at the switch box with a test light and evrything like the whit ignition wire and the red 12v work. any ideas? If the battery is drain will it cause this.

You have a problem with your starter system, CD.

Go to the Engine FAQs and do the starter circuit troubleshooting in "Outboard won't start".
