'69 Chry 55 hp water pump question

OK, so this motor hasn't been ran for over 15 years. New points, plugs and impeller. But it doesn't spew water out the back, more like a mist at idle. Is this ok, $50 for the motor not bad I ran it for 30 minutes at an idle and it didn't blow up.

Yes,it's ok.The water is exiting out the lower unit.J
