Hi guys I'm just trying to figure out if this motor (69 Evinrude 115, 115983E) is worth putting any money into. I got it for free but it needs work done all cylinders are low about 70 lbs. and #4 is at 60 lbs. and it has a short (I think its just the fuse), that's all I know right now.
My biggest question is if its worth putting the money into it I've read quite a bit of posts and everyone says that the electrical is really touchy on it and you have buy power packs pretty often. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

I think that may be an electric shift model and the solenoids in the lower unit are no longer available so if one dies you're SOL. I hate to have to condemn an old jonnyrude but I don't think I'd put much money into that one.

i had one new, power packs every 2 years, was a fantastic motor. as said for what it will cost to restore, you can do better. that motor is worth more in parts, than in whole.
