69 merc 1250 up & down pivot rod

just got my trim & tilt motor oiled up it goes down fine but wont go up disconnected pistons tried moving up and down manually stiff what do ido to loosen up i loosen both nuts where steering rod goes but still stiff also oil leaked out of one piston think i blew seal can seal be replaced if i have to remove steering rod tube (the one that is threaded both ends) how do i do this thank you for your time

There are o ring kits available for the cyls. a 3/4" shaft or 1" or you can remove the old orings and go to a hyd. repair shop for them. To remove the tilt pin you must support the engine remove the nuts and drive it out, usually you can loosen it up with penetrating oil and new grease.
