69 Mercruiser 160 outdrive gasket help

[69Gulfstream]

Hi,
I greased the U-joints on my boat yesterday.. So today i went to the local car parts store and Glastron dealer looking for a new outdrive gasket and O-ring. They both told me that this gasket is no longer available through either mercury or Sierra. Can this be true? Theres gotta be a million of these old mercruisers still toolin around yet.!. So does anybody know where I can get this gasket??? Its a 1969 Mercruiser 160.

That is what happens when you go to a CAR PARTS STORE looking for marine parts. Nothing special about that drive and the kits are sold by many places, including Merc dealers, it's a MC-1 drive used from 67 to 82.
The Merc gasket kit part number is 27-64818Q4, Sierra # 18-2614

Just to defend myself here I went to a Mercury dealer also and they told me the exact same thing that the car parts store told me. That it wasn't available.. Thank you for clearing this up tho.. Ya see they told me that there are 3 differnt versions of that same gasket through the years. And I needed the the first version of that gasket. The picture of the gasket your showing that I need is the 2nd version of the gasket. If that will work.. I will give it a try.. Thanks..

if DonS posted a part number then,like me, odds are high he already looked it up.
