howdy checkmate, what part of St. Paul? Well, I just happen to have the Clymer book from the Library,I've had my own recent tilt thrills. This Clymer's covers 45-225 hp from 1972-1989.I'm assuming a Merc 800 is an 80 HP? This book describes the procedure for the external system<br />for 1972, good possibility it would apply to yours<br />also. The book has three different procedures; for<br />inline engine ; for early V6 (round motor housing)<br />and late V6 (square motor housing). Let me know what you have and I can send the procedure, about 5-7 steps for each. Did the system accumulate the air over a short period? Could have a leak somewhere. Tuber
