Hey Guys! In need of a little help here with the twist grip throttle on my 6hp. It is very very tought to twist when throttling up, but can be throttled down easily with just 2 fingers. I have disconnected the connector that joins it to the spark/throttle advance plate to see if the problem was the plate, but it moves easily. The problem is definately somewhere in the tiller arm. I have cleaned and re-greased it already, but it didn't help. Any ideas?

Does anyone know if there's an adjustment knob or screw to loosen this up? Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how was it corrected? Any help is appreciated.

also check part number 72 in that diagram above the one on my 56 fastwin was the same way took the gear out and the bushing had corrosion inside and out side of it .... if its coroded sand it down and run a drill down in the hole make sure its got plenty of grease when you put it back together should go smooth again

if the gear isnt sticking it in the shaft itself take the tiller arm apart and clean and grease everything - takes about an hour
