I did some looking around and thought the composite props were very interesting but can't find them for this motor a '71 6hp Johnson. Right now it has a 2 blade 8 by 7.25 aluminum, at this point I am really just looking for some choices, the current prop has a few dings and if I decide to replace it I would like to make sure I have the right one and try to keep it economical as possible since this is not a particularly valuable motor. Before I actually buy a prop I will get a tinytach so I can verify WOT rpm and see if I need a different design. Any ideas where I can look for different prop options, I have already seen several Michigan choices but thought there had to be more out there?

Re: 6hp prop options

Hey, Neighbor!

Just want to give a plug for the Rawhide Boys Ranch sponsored by the Great Bart Starr, formerly of the Mighty Green Bay Packers. GO PACK!!! Got a boat you don't want anymore? They might just be interested in taking it off your hands for you. Proceeds from auctioned donated cars, Rvs, and boats go toward mentoring young lads desperately in need of a helping hand. Most Worthy Cause!

I'd also like to give a plug to the Ranch for a most excellent autobody artist that would make an Excellent addition to your staff. His name is Dano and I know he's been interested in lending an expert helping hand! Give him a call. He's been there, done that, and the best autobody man there is. Period!

I'm afraid your prop options are pretty much limited to Original Equipment and Michigan Wheel. But if anyone knows of other options, I'd like to hear about them too.

There's a gas station on Main Street in nearby Oshkosh called Gehrke's. There's a shelf full of old props there and I'll bet they'd have one for that motor. As long as I'm plugging, might as well include them too.
