7.4 GL cooling issues

I fished my boat yesterday with a 7.4GL engine for about 8 hours. Did not have any cooling issues all day. However, when i took the boat out and hooked it to ear muffs, the engine overheated.

Fresh water was not coming out of the exhaust as normal.

What are some possible issues?

The raw water pump was swapped about about 1.5 years ago. I'm going to check the tension on the belts as maybe that is lose, but looking at it yesterday, it was spinning the pump. Any other things to look for?

You have to start with the impeller, you could have got lucky and pulled it out before it gave out.

Was the water cooing out any other place?

seems like it was the water pump was not tensioned enough on the belt. adjusted the pump a bit and now its cooling perfectly.
