hey guys someone help me please i have a question, so i have a 1998 crown liner with a 7.4 MerCruiser in it, always worked good but i took it out other night in the evening and turned out it was low tide and i kept bottoming out and bogging to engine till it died few times trying to get back to shore and eventually did and took it out just yesterday and took off and now it started to over heat! i checked thermostat and it is good, can anyone point me in the right direction, im pretty sure it has to do with running aground and hitting sand multiple times,? any info is appreciated

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,..... You probably plugged up the raw water intake with mud,....

Pull the raw water pump, 'n back-flush with a hose to flush out the intake system, then replace the impeller, 'n try it,....

when you drive the outdrive into the sand, everything from the raw water pump back to the drive is now impacted with sand, rocks, small crustaceans, etc.

so backflush
