I just bought a 25 baja outlaw and it has a 7.4mpi. The previous owner for some reason deleted the stock oil pressure sensor on the bottom of the port side block and put a mechanical pressure gauge right under the hatch. I want to put an electronic sensor back in, but I can't find the sender wire to connect it. I pulled my gauge panel and did a continuity test on the light blue sender wire and found continuity to the oil pressure switch that's right by the distributor. Where would the factory oil pressure SENSOR wire be? I thought that would have run all the way up to the gauge, but now I'm finding that the oil SWITCH wire runs to the gauge... below are pics of the mechanical gauge they mounted as well as the tube that connects to the block. this is the oil pressure switch by the distributor cap with a light blue wire that I found continuity to the sender wire on the back of the oil pressure gauge on the dash. I thought this switch was just for the alarm? If so, why does it go to the gauge?

The light Blue should go to the gauge. In early years the sender was behind the distributor and had a 45 degree and small straight fittings to move it away from the intake. Get some fittings and install the correct sender to the gauge and it will work.

The alarm switch should be a Tan/Blue wire and is down by the oil filter remote (port side lower block)

You could also extend the tubing and place the mechanical gauge in the helm
