7.4GL Fuel Pump???

I have a 1996 Volvo penta 7.4GL (carb) and noticed a whining sound almost like a power steering pump with low fluid. I've seen a lot of post describing this whining to be a bad fuel pump. I recently went out and my boat just shut off. I was able to get it started again after pumping the throttle several times and leaving it down half way. I got underway and ran fine then shut off again. After cracking on it and doing the same process I was able to get it started and back to the dock. Is this a typical symptom of a bad fuel pump? If so what Fuel pump do I get? I just see the High/low pressure pumps, and mine only has one pump. Thanks for any help....

If??? You have the electric fuel pump?
It's possible the pump is bad.
Hope not cause they aren't cheap.
Try do a pressure test on the pump.
Not sure of the specs.
The units with 2 pumps are for the injected models.
Before you buy, make sure there isin't a clog in the filters or pick up.
