7.4gsi and dpx question on losing all power

I recently purchased a 2000 Glastron Carlson with the 7.4 Gsi and dpx out drive. When slow down sometimes the boat just shuts off and loses all power and I have to push those red breaker buttons on top of the side of the engine. I am new to this so any help is appreciated. I am also wondering what kind of speeds should a boat like this see. I can't tell ya what the Rpm's are cause the tach just stopped working also. Like I said any help is greatly appreciated to all of these questions. I'm not new to boating but am this set up and getting frustrated. Thanks Dan
