Can someone advise if this motor is a keeper? It runs great except for the usual smoke and is in immaculate condition.

Let's see - it runs good, is immaculate, is easy to work on, is easy to get parts for, is lightweight, looks sharp, runs quietly, and will still be running 50 years from now with proper care. Sounds like a keeper to me....

Evinrude or Johnson? Sea Horse is a Johnson.

Not that it matters much. . .mostly different paint.
