7.5 hp outboard too much power/ weight?

I have a 2.3 metre (7.5 foot) inflatable boat with a slatted floor, and the hp limit on it is 7 hp. Say I wanted to replace my 4 hp 2 stroke outboard with a larger 2 stroke, is 7.5 hp too much or would the .5 hp difference be fine? any input on this would be helpful.
