7.5 Merc (long) shaft leaks

Hello again; another question for the experts:<br />I have a tiny pin hole sized leak on the side of the drive shaft, maybe an inch or so above the prop. Oil seems to leak out of this hole. I am assuming it is not supposed to be there, although I can't figure out how it got there - no sign of impact or anything. I intend to seal it with JB Weld.<br />Anyone have this experiance?<br />Thanks<br />John

That is a drain hole for the cavity within.<br /><br />It is supposed to be there and weep as it does.<br /><br />You see a oily residue running out of it from accumulated unburnt fuel mix that has collected within the midesection from running.<br /><br />If you plug the hole and allow water to remain in this cavity during a freeze it will break your motor.
