How do you match the 7.5 minute quadrangle USGS maps and the coordinates on a GPS. The corners of the map have the coordinates, but the marks along the sides of the map don't appear to represent an even number of degrees.... am I missing something?

Thanks.

Re: 7.5 minute quadrangle and GPS

Tou don't match them. The GPS is a long/latt number. There are clear plastic templates available to help you find your position on a map using GPS vs grid lines.

Look at http://www.imsplus.com/ims20.html about 3/4 way down.

I use Terrain Navigator and can print topo maps of any area I visit (I have all of New England and NY) with both grid lines. I download my treks with gps through the computer and can plot every move I have made. We use it for hunting and we plot out all our tree stands, deer signs and trails.
