This may be a foolish question, but I'm going to ask anyway......I need to replace the original plug wires on my motor. The motor has a large single red coil and a distributor with an adapter. Can someone please tell me, if any of these wires are permanently affixed to these components before I start twisting and pulling? In other words, Can I pull them out of cap and coil?

Thanks

Re: '70 Le plug wires

They are copper core wires and screwed into the cap but the coil is a pushed in connection and the wire and end kit is available through Sierra

No such thing as a foolish question. As Laddies mentioned, the plug wires are screwed into the cap.

You can find some of the part numbers on this listing:

Merc 800

For example the wires & boots:

Spark Plug Wires 84-63212A2
Spark Plug Boots 85-63709A2
