timing.jpgmiddle carb.jpgguide mark next to wheel.jpgfuel filter.jpgcontrol cables.jpgHi I have a 1997 70 hp evinrude E70TLEUM. I've got running problems fixed on earlier post. now idle is high about 1300 to 1500 rpms. it bounces in between I will post some pictures to see if anything looks out of place. on the carbs the screws a the top they are all different. does that make difference and the little gold screws or jets above them are in different adjustment also. sorry I don't know what they are . I have manual on the way. I had control cables off motor I may have turned adjustment wheels, and don't know if they are all the way in holder. I have picture of timing adjustment rod ( probably not what it is called) thanks

Nothing necessarily looks out of place but it does sound like you need to do a little carb adjusting.

your low idle adjustment screw on the throttle setting is a bolt (pic 1 of 2nd post), it should be a spring, square nut and screw as the one above it, maybe this is effecting the low idle setting ?

I checked out upper bolt thing. I don't know what it does. maybe some sort of stop. bottom bolt is just barely touching arm. I have to see if it a backwards thing tightening is going to bring down idle
