70 HP Force Compression?

What should compression be on my motor 1991 70 HP Force? Also when I check compression do I actually let the motor idle or how do you correctley check compression. What I did is disconnect one of the spark plugs with other 2 in I let it start and shut off right away. Does that sound right.?

no disconect all plugs then do one at a time.

you mean disconecct all plugs and turn key? rev it for how long?

Turn off key and remove safety switch,ground out the plug wires.Then remove all the plugs,throttle all the way forward. Install guage and then turn motor over till guage stops going up.Repeat all cylinders.J
