70 hp jet drive conversion

I have a 77 70 hp I found a jet drive lower unit driveshaft length and splines are same is there anything else I need to do for this to work

It should bolt up fine if it's compatible. Try to obtain instructions for impeller shimming, be sure to lubricate the jet bearings each time out. Reverse is not much more than a position on the control box, you'll find you lose a fair amount of load capability, will use significantly more fuel, and it won't like running in grass or weeds. I had one in Alaska on a 16' jon boat, it would literally run in 4" of water and turn around in it's own length (and scare the poop out of passengers) ... :facepalm:

What was the load weight you could get on step with the 70HP Jet / 16' boat?

You will have between a 40 -50 hp motor depending on the condition of the jet pump. You will also need the shifting linkage.
