I'm exploring how to increase performance on my 2001 Johnson 70hp 2s. Has anyone had any experience with Boyesen Power Reeds? Mfg claims increased HP, better throttle response, smoother idle. Snowmobiles & Offroad motorcycles are apparently into this in a big way. For $72.00 sounds like a winner.

They work very well. If your motor is set up to turn in the low 5000 range you may pick up a tad. Where we see the biggest rpm gain is in high rpm motors where the steel reeds start to flutter and therefore limit the rpm's. The Boyesens will allow the motor to go past that and gain substantial rpm's.

Overall they are smoother and more responsive. Well worth the time and $ invested.

Good luck!
