70 hp plug question

my 1970 outboard calls for a champion l20v spark plug gapped to .030 an the plugs that were in it were autolite plugs that i was told are capacity discharge plugs an the gap is set you cant change it so i bought new plugs today the campions that it called for an theyre the same as the autolites an i know that in the 70s they didnt have this type of plug so did i get the wrong plugs some how or are these the only way they come now im confused as to how to gap a pregapped plug

You can't gap a surface gap plug and you must use a surface gap plug in these engines or you chance hitting the piston with a standard plug.

Chrysler engines were designed to operate with Champion plugs. If you can't get them, the NGK equivelent will work.

thanks thats exactly what i wanted to know i knew i couldnt gap it but i wasnt sure if i got the wrong plug somehow because the manual i have for it says to gap the plug so i was expecting to get an old school plug
