Boat = 16 / 60 Lowe Aluminum Flat bottom hull
Engine = 1978 70 hp Rude
Current prop = 13 3/4 X 15 (Factory)
RPM = Wish I knew,,,,
Weight = Um ? 1500 loaded ?

Currently it runs 31 mph WOT, Holeshot is good, Mid range is Ok, Loves gas and seems to want to go a lil fast to stay on a plane. The prop on it is Beat Up, Ruff shape so even if I had a tach it would be useless info at this point. I am going to order a prop and a tach, obviously with the lacking info we can't do a real scientific approach, but I have read other threads with the same motor and such that were recommended the Solas Amita 12 - 3/4? X 17 4 blade... But his Original prop was a 13 3/4" x 17 where mine was a 15... he was Very happy with his new prop. I use the boat 98% for Catfishing, and if the weight changes it goes Up, bait tanks, Fish :D, friends etc. What I am wanting is advice on if I should order the 12 - 3/4? X 17 4 Blade or the 13 x 15 4 Blade as a Base Prop to find out what it's going to do with Tach etc. I'm going to order from Iboats as soon as I get a lil kick in the ***** on which one, or a comparison of the 2 ? Thanks in advance. ~Ace~

That boat looks like its pretty bare, I think it weights more like 1000 lbs you didnt give any dimenetions so its hard to tell.

This boat here weights 1200 without a motor 1400 with a 60 hp it does 28 on the gps with 2 people 32 gal of gas and leaky hull full of water.

I have seen a few johnson dealers that loan out props so customers can test which is the right one for them before they buy. Goodluck with it.

"1987 Lowe Boats 16 Husky Jon"
This Lowe outboard utility has a aluminum hull, is 16 feet long and 83 inches wide at the widest point. The boat weighs approximately 422 pounds with an empty fuel tank and without any gear or passengers.

I am 220, I carry 24 gal of fuel, at least one passenger, a dog 8 - 10 rods, 25 gal bait tank, Tackle, 3 batteries, 2 large coolers, lights, supplies for over night trips etc, it has a Floor put in, transom reinforced, steering console, Maybe you are closer to right, I have not weighed it. Right now it does real good across the board, but I expected a lil more than 30 mph, and there is little change in MPH the last 1000 - 1500 RPM. I know the prop on it is chewed up, and am hoping that is most of it.

I'd Love to be able to plane at lower speed, and get better fuel economy cruising (20 - 23 mph) and a few more mph would be Great, but not NEEDED, it's rough riding in any kinda chop being a flat bottom, but when calm a lil faster from hole to hole would be a plus. Thanks for the reply. ~Ace~

I reckon I will try to find a local Prop place, I never had much patience.

Ace, get the 15" pitch in the 4 blade Solas Amita here on Iboats, it will work great on your boat.
