'70 merc 650 fuel flow prob?

I've recently bought my first boat & 1970 merc 650 motor that dies if the passenger doesn't continually squeeze the primer bulb. The faster I go, the faster the faster the bulb has to be squeezed. Tank is vented, no leaks/kinks in fuel line. What is the most likely culprit.

check your fuel pump sounds like likely culprit

I would also replace the fuel line and bulb for the heck of it.....
