been posting a bit but had to cover new info and a new question. first upon replacing my impellor with new one along with new impellor plate, I see the impellor plates are slightly different. the one I removed is stainless and has an "M" stamped on it along with 70 h(p)stamped, cant read the P for sure. identical in size and shape as replacement except the water slot is longer and slightly off to the side when compared to replacement. It also has a manufactured hole about a 1/16 inch diameter through it lined up with the shaft and propeller. the hole is not for any other separate flow since the underside of the impeller plate has the cooling water accessible to the groove/slot and the 1/16 hole. Is the replacement plate (all black coated) redesigned and this is okay to not have the hole or the slot not exact as the other one, or is the former impeller plate from another lower unit? the 70 h(P)? My model number 75743 s3. one other point I like to make is that the impeller housing in my manual shows a flat gasket between the housing and plate, I have an "o" ring in a groove in housing and no flat gasket. this may help in answering the question. thanks!
