I had the 70hp Johnson which was making "milkshakes" in the lower unit. I posted some questions got some practical info. To make a long story short I couldnt find the prop shaft seal removal tool so I drilled small holes in it, used a small screw and attached it to my dent puller. With some PB penetrating oil and luck it came out (not easy but it did) I did the same on the shaft seal. Took it out yesterday, did 24 miles along the San Diego coast. Didnt check it until this morning since I didnt to have a bad Monday 
. This morning I pulled the fill plug and I looked like brand new gear lube . Thanks for all the help!!!! Saved me hundreds$$$$$
