Model.3 cylinder Year ?.Made in Belgum by Marine Power Europe.Ser# 9372376. Lower unit/gear box only drops 10mm and refuses to move any further, all bolts have been removed.Do i need to extract the tension pin from the top of the gear selector sharft to allow for this sharft to drop as well,or is it possible that the drive sharft is frozen in the crank sharft spline due to corrosion if so then how do you remove it.Work shop manual is unavailable and service agent 200klm away. Any help with this fault is appreciated.Wayne .NZ.

There shouldn't be anything else holding it. The shift shaft is splined like the drive shaft but at the bottom instead of at the powerhead.

Wayne, be sure you removed bolt underneath trim tab (gray looking on back of lower unit).<br /><br />This bolt is hidden, you have to remove tab than look underneath, there is a bolt holding back end.

Valv, a good suggestion, but I think he found all bolts. "Lower unit/gear box only drops 10mm"<br /><br />I also think if wayne.w reads the topic I posted a link to above he'll find all possible ways to solve this problem. I think the splines are frozen.<br /><br /> Looking like this?

Bear-Walker-Valv Thanks for the quick replies, exploded views and links.I have flooded the top of the drive sharft and bottom of shift sharft with CRC,made a slideing hammer from my weight lifting set and rechecked retaining bolts, all out except one that is reached from the top of the drive sharft assembly housing, transom side. Will have to make a mirror{hard to see }and extensions for the socket, free it then start pulling thumping and prying
