70's Bayliner Saratoga....

Hi,<br />I was given a 70's Bayliner Saratoga hard top. I think by the hull number it is either a 72 or 74.<br />I was wondering if anybody knew what engine is supposed to be in it, and if I wanted to repower it, what could I fit in without changing the outdrive.<br /><br />I have searched the web, but I can find very little info on this boat.<br /><br />Thanks,<br />Chris<br /><br />btw, the boat is 25'....I think.

Knowing What Drive is In It would Help.......<br /><br />Are there ANY Hints, left-over parts laying around ???<br /><br />25',..... Probably a Chevy, or Ford V8......

I will see if I can go take a closer look at the boat today, maybe I can find a few clues.<br /><br />Also, I will try and get some pictures.

Well the engine is red and the outdrive is black. <br />I have been on the phone all morning to a bunch of marine repair places, so far, it seems I either have a Volvo engine or a Mercruiser.<br /><br />I wont be able to look at the boat until Sunday.<br />Hopefully Im not biting off more than I can chew
