I purchased my first boat and was so excited! Until I found the termites. As I dug and dug, I ended up removing the engine and outdrive and all other parts from the boat and taking it to the heap.

Now I have all the engine, outdrive and parts I don't know what to do with. I threw an ad on craigslist but no one responded.

I don't want to throw it away - the engine needed a little work but it did turn over and there's all the other parts.

I began taking it apart and putting it in boxes with the thought of selling things on eBay - but after doing this for weeks - I don't want to finish for a few reasons, I don't know enough to identify the parts and it's taking a lot of research on each part just to know what they heck the part is and is worth. I'm tired of all this and very mad I got ripped off. I have to admit that in my excitement to buy a boat, I should have realized why it was so cheap. Lesson learned and not to be repeated.

Any suggestions on how to off-load an engine and outdrive and lots of other parts from a scrapped boat?

My first 2 ideas are a bust.....

OMC 140HP / Hydromechanical shift. It was the "in-between" years for the Stringer.

I've got a similar problem with my parts cache on my old Electric Shift. I let the new owner (he knew what he was getting into) sift through what I had and take what he wanted, but the rest of it pretty much the leftovers from a couple of "Frankenstein" fixes I did. My problem has been taking things apart to get to the pieces that I think people need more than others.

I had some Craigslist success with a few bits, but not too much.

Kinda' interested in Kenny's ideas.
