Hi all,
Back in the fold after a way too long hiatus. My new project is a 70's era PenYan with a Force 115 motor. My question is, I know nothing of the Force motors, are the parts still available? Were they reliable (sic) motors?

Force 115Hp, than I think it is a engine post 1984 and pre 1987.
Are the color of it white?
Force is a rebanded Chrysler engine, Chrysler had to sell the outboard division in early 1980es.
1984 was the last year with Chrysler name and the outboards was sold to US Marine.
The engine is very similar to late 1970es and early Chrysler 115Hp.
Four cylinder engine with electronic ignition system.
In my opinion a reliable engine with old school engineering and easy to maintain and work on.
Maintain it well and do not run the hell out of it and it will last for a long time.
Parts are still available but it will decrease.
Iboats, Franz Marine Service, outboardparts and Master tech marine are sources for parts and Ebay too.

Under the cowl, there's a tag with the Model# and Serial#
Post those #s along with the compression reading.
A Chrysler 115 hp outboard motor is a discontinued model that was produced in the late 1970s and early 1980s. It was eventually sold to U.S. Marine, who rebranded the line as Force outboards. Parts for these motors can still be found, and some sellers may offer used engines or parts for sale.
When they were made, they were a little harder on fuel but usually ran good.
