Restored my 1350. Took it out for a ride today and the foolowing happened. Starts and idles fine. When first advanced to WOT no issue. After idling it got trouble getting up in rpm. If I advance the trottle to fast it stalls. Will start right up on idle again.
By tweeking very carefull and advancing ever so slowly I can get it up in RPM and it will run fine. Take boat to 30 MPH at 4200 RPM WOT.

It seems to use a lot of gas. Could the fuelpump leak into the crankcase and swamp the bottom cilinders at idle ? If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

regards

The fuel pump can indeed leak raw fuel into the cylinders. Rebuild it, it is pretty cheap. Other that that your symptoms are dirty or misadjusted carbs.

I did rebuilt the fuel pump earlier, so I guess I'll focus on the carbs. Anything it particular I should look for. They where apart and soaked in carburator cleaner some time ago.

thnks,

Ok, So the carbs are clean. Did you inspect the floats? Do any of the carbs leak when you prime the motor? If not, it sounds like the carbs are set incorrectly. Open the top carb 1/8 tun and try to accelerate. Repeat with mid carb and then bottom carb, testing after every adjustment. Eventually you will find a good setting that allows smooth acceleration and reasonable idle.
