While not my first boat to restore it will be the largest. Restored a 1968 22' sailboat and a 1972 15' open bow fishing boat.
Also restored several 1970's dodge and plymouth cars. Pictures are as I found her, she has sat with sea water in her and it cover the engine. The PO started deck work that will all need to be removed. Looking for ideas on interior design and new power. She will be used in coastal waters off the Oregon coast.

welcome to iboats! im sure the smarties will pop in soon. Im still learnin as well.
I will be watching your restoration :)

not a big deal but its a lot more convenient for us iboaters to be able to see your pictures in BIG view instead of having to click on thumbnails. here is a tutorial on how to change that if you like.

Good luck on this bigger project!!

That looks like a Chrysler, probably 318. If I were you I'd drop a GM 5.7 in. Much more common as marine engines so parts are easy to find. You'd need to change the bellhousing adapter but that's no big deal.

That's going to be a nice boat when you're done.

have not decided on the engine yet. Do know the one in it is trash. Bolts are all rusted from sitting under water.

Removed the rust hulk called an engine. Found rotted engine supports and stringers. Next I plan on removing the outdrive to replace the rotted wood in the transom and the patchwork repair that was done.

Very cool looking boat and a brand that is close to my heart. I have always loved the lines of Bayliners. Hope to see more progress soon.
