Ok.......replaced the entire water pump assembly, put it all back together, runs great but the exhaust blows white smoke. Not a ton of it but enough to make me wonder. Has been sitting upright on a sawhorse for approx 6 months w/o running. Do I just need to give it a nice long run on the lake to blow some cob webs out of it? I'm new at this, sorry if this is a stupid question.

But does it blow water? That's what's important. It's supposed to smoke.

Look at your sparkplugs. Is one real clean?

If so, you are ingesting water in the cylinder via the head gasket or the exhaust port cover gasket.

will look at spark plugs. Wouldn't it run pretty rough if I was getting water in there? It runs great.

As suggested check the plugs. One or both may be extra clean.Oil smoke has
a blueish tinge and tends to linger "white smoke" is actually vaporized water, steam, and tends to disipate quickly.Motors can run quite nicely
if the problem isn't too bad.

Well thanks for all the help, looks like all I needed was some freshly mixed fuel. Ran her accross the lake this evening w/o a hint of trouble. Thanks again.:D
