I purchased a 1971 Evinrude 50HP with rotted out fuel lines. I have purchased new lines, but I do not know how to route them (which line goes where). Where can I find a diagram of each hose?
It's pretty simple - fuel line goes from external connector to fuel pump. Should be arrows on the pump to show in and out. If not, try blowing through the pump - it'll only go through one way. Next, go from pump to carbs. Not sure how your carbs are set up - some have top carb with two fittings - one in, one out to feed the other carb. Some have only one fitting, in which case you need a T-fitting to split the lines...
- Scott
There were no "T" connectors on the old system. I have two carbs, each with two connections (one large on bottom and one smaller on side). There is also two fittings on the engine case. I thought that the crankcase pressure actuated the pump. How does the engine get lubricated?
on the "UP" stroke, piston draws fuel from carb, through reeds, into crank case. on down stroke, piston pressures fuel mix that is in the crank case, into the cylinder.

Lube is 2-stroke oil in the fuel
