Hey Everyone, I'm new to this forum & not entirely new to boats but this is my first glassed boat restoration. I just acquired (got the boat & trailer for the trouble of moving it, so a great deal!!!) a 1971 Glastron V163 w/ Mercury 115 outboard (it runs) & have always wanted to try my hand at a glass boat project. She's actually in pretty decent shape but there is some rotten wood in what I'd call the bilge area, tho the transom still feels solid & has the motor attached.

The boat has been sitting (on her trailer) for many years & was bow up allowing weather & thus water to sit or collect, in the bilge area at the very stern. The battery terminals aren't terribly rusted however & the entire floor feels solid! So other than the stern lumber, complete gut of the interior furniture & so on & refinishing her exterior completely, she seems to still be a solid boat.

I'll post photos as I go (files are to big at present to share) but for now it's groovy to have found such a wicked forum & good people & I can't wait to share this resto. It'll be a long one as I'm a disabled Vet & not loaded & will be doing entirely myself along with my furry girl Matty to assist.

Thanks for having m
