I'm stuck on getting the prop shaft bearing housing back into the prop housing.
I took off the bearing housing by undoing the 4 bolts and using a puller to get it out of the prop housing.
Replaced the 2 back to back seals.
I'm stuck on getting the 4 bolts back in, I used 2 long 1/4 28 bolts and have them bolted in to the bottom plate so the housing lines up.
The housing is facing up per the marking that says top per my manual.
Basically I can't get part #28 secured to part#25 in the attachment below:

The bearing housing still protrudes from the prop housing by about 1/4" and appears to be hung up on something. The original bolts aren't long enough to grab a hold of the bottom plate.
Supposedly the bearing housing should slip most of the way down and the bolts will bring it down all the way.
1.What is it hanging up on? Could it be one of the Truarc C rings
2. Should I be pounding this with a hammer it doesn't seem to help.
Happy boating to all those who's motor's are running.
