It is not a cable issue. I changed lower units on this engine because the one on there was leaking. The old one ran perfect with the exception of the leaking seal which can't be changed without destroying the casing....trust me...it can't be done. The "new" one fired up fine and the RPMS increase as they should when shifting, but the motor does not go into gear.
When in neutral the prop spins freely by hand; when put into gear it clicks both ways. I know it is supposed to catch.
What am I dealing with here. Big problem or fixable with relative ease?
