Step one, its dirty clean the jets and the whole thing, if that does not work then, step two get a rebuild kit, not a new carb, boating is not turn the key and go boating, boating is do the maintance then turn the key and go boating, the minimum maintance ,spin on water separator, battery maintainer on battery 24/7 when not boating, fogging oil at start and end of your boating season, , marine gear lube lower unit, every year, impeller/water pump every year, are the plugs ok, spark checker at HF, and clean, drain carb bowl at the end of every boating season, or all fuel for that matter, Do the maintance, or boating is going to be one big disappointing bummer, its a lot of work to have fun.

dang. think I may need a new hobby too....:)

carb kit is pretty available and easy, but depends on what your skills and interests are. Have to believe it's the easiest way to go. Might describe the issues you are having (might not be the carb at all, for example).

oldboat1, its time to buy a boat, for a new hobby, and see if you can keep it running, fix it when it breaks, and do perfect maintance, its a fun challenge, I dare my 125 to eat a ring, I cant wait to snap bolts and drill them out, and out in a heli coil, take care oldboat1

Yup. Done many of them, over many years. Float, fix, float again. It's all good.
