How do I adjust the switch to shift into reverse?
I have found netural and the eng. starts fine, prop turns I didnt think it should in netural.
What does the button do .
when I push the control forward the eng rpm increases same in either direction, prop still turns right.
Thanks, rich

What kinda' controller are you using Rich? There were two or three possibilities. On mine:

The shifting is simply forward to engage forward, back to engage reverse (gotta' push the little button on top). To "rev" in neutral, all you can do is pull the red lever in the back to go high idle.

There was also a three button type that had a button for forward, a button for neutral and a button for reverse. And a binnacle mount that I've never actually seen (that I know of).

I have a single lever with the button, similar to the pict only mine is round chrome with a black knob with the button near the bottom,I didnt know the button was to rev , I thought it was to allow you to shift into rev.I will try ut today.
So how do I adjust the switch to shift into rev.

Thanks, Rich

Ah, you have the side mount (totally forgot about that) single lever ... again, never seen one.

No adjustment on the switch. On an electric shift it's push for forward, pull for reverse. I'm assuming that the button on the bottom of yours is a "warm up switch" like the red lever on mine, but I'm not 100% on that.

If you're not getting reverse, I would test that you're getting voltage at the shift wires in back. Do you have a manual?

Thanks for your help, I go it to work after you told me the button was to rev the engine.
I did have to adjust the throttle cable so I could shift without accelerating.
Thanks, again, Rich
