I got a 1973 Johnson 25HP with seering and whenever I steer left or right the engine seams to loose some rpms, just wanted to know is it ok to do that? Also is there anyway to hook up a tach or speedo?
looks like a little go fast boat. if you cable is installed properly it is not the control. when you turn you are changing the balance and load on the motor. 99% of all boats do it. speedo is a total independent system of the motor. they consist of a pitot pickup on the transom. hose, and the speedo dial, very simple to install. there is a company that makes "tiny tach" easy to install.
ya shes quick, but I would like a speedo to see how fast I really am going. What about a Tach tho? Just nice to know if the engines running intune with each cylinder. Thanks
Don't think its over proped, its a race motor. But when ever I turn it slows down untill I am going in a line again, I can see cable turning as I turn the wheel, maybe it needs a locking blot to keep it in one place?
