I purchased a 17' 73 apollo with a 120hp straight 4 that is in great condition besides a small hole in the hull that needs some fiberglass work done to it and repainted and some issues with it flooding out when trying to accelerate. It has no soft spots or any other damage not even a rip in the interior. The thing is i cannot for the life of me find out any information on this year and make of the boat to help me with my "fix-its". Oh and when fixing the tiny hole that has the paint chipped about 3 inches on each side, does this mean a "gelcoat" repair also?

The Manufacture plate on it says "Apollo boat MFG.,INC." Out of wachington. But when doing a google search it comes back with no useful links or info for this boat. I even tried ebay to see if anyone had one for sale but no luck.

If anyone can direct me to some useful info on the engine and fiberglass repair for this boat, i would greatly appreciate it.

you can use marine tex to patch the gel coat. be the hole should be fixed from inside. as far as the engine is concerned what is it. and what is the outdrive. there are thousands of post here on fiberglass repair.

Re: 73 apollo?

Hello;

I have a 1975 Apollo 19-foot with an 888 drive package. I believe it was made in the Washington state area also. Boat manufactures have a three letter designation and mine is WNZ at the beginning of the vehicle id and under make on the registration.

When doing a search I found a lot of boats/manufactures are apollo made in different states by other manufactures.

A gentleman was admiring the boat and told me they were made in Washington state for only a few years.

I traded a motorhome for the boat and I had two choices at the time --- my son is a boat mechanic on Orcus Island in Washington and recommended the Apollo over a Bayliner.

I am very happy with the boat.
