Hello,
New here...so hello!!! Just recently purchased a 1972 Fiberform Tri-Hull with a 73 Johnson 135 hp v4 outboard motor. I've started off by doing general maintenance to the motor such as rebuilding the carbs, new spark plugs, fuel pump and hoses, water pump, impeller and now lower unit seals.
So my question is, does anybody know the correct Shift Rod Height? On my motor I marked the bottom of the rod because I thought it unscrewed there. However after I realized my rod doesn't unscrew at the bottom, I think I may have messed up by unscrewing the top connector by mistake.
The closest height measurement I can find is 21 13/32. But I am not sure if this is correct.because it just says the "77 v4 140 hp" has that particular measurement, but it doesnt go back to "73" nor "135 hp v4".
Can any one with this info point me in the right direction, or please let me know the right height to set it at. Thanx in advance, Bryan
