I just replaced the impeller on my johnson and due to design changes it is nothing like the old setup.The new impeller is smaller and made to fit inside an inserted metal cup housing. After installation of the new parts, many of which are plastic the feel of the impeller turning in the cup is tight. Is this normal, should it loosen up after some use, and does anyone have experience as to the life and efficiency of this new design.
