I am new to this site so I hope I am doing this the right way. I am doing a restoration on a 1973 Bayliner Quartermaster and I am looking for a full dash/gauge set up and I am having a hard time finding one. Does anyone know where I can find one? Thanks a lot

Yea I was hoping I wouldn't have to make one but it might turn out to be the only way. I am however looking for some good marine paint. I heard of some kind of marine paint that you brush on and it dries glossy? If this is true, what kind of paint is it?

Most marine paint can be sprayed, brushed, or rolled. I rolled my boat with Petit Easypoxy and the finish came out amazing. Unfortunately the durability hasn't been real good. Others have had better luck with it I believe.

Thanks that helps. Now if I could just find some of the missing interior pieces like the gauges, engine cover and some seats I will be ready to go!

I know you have not replied to this thread in a while But just wanted to give you a heads up. Because back in april you replied to another quarter master thread.
Do not get discouraged. The Guage dashboard wouldnt be to hard, you have many things you can make it out of, wood, get a fabricator to make one out of metal of your choice, or Lexan (plastic board).
As far as gauges. I bought mine off ebay. You can look at faria gauges on google. Many different gauges that you do not need to get ones specific to your boat. There may be a difference between outboard and I/O boats.. But i bought mine from ebay after searching for Faria Gauges.

Drill them yourself or have holes drilled into your dashboard that you either make yourself or just install the gauges into one that you buy online.
I just browsed on ebay. u can find one

i hope it helps

Re: 73 Quartermaster Restoration

I know its been awhile since I have bothered to update this but I thought I would toss a question out there. Last summer the boat had some issues with hitting and sort of RPMs above 2500 or 3000 and the boat refused to level out. Now that the boat is out of storage, I was wondering where I should begin to fix the issues I have experienced. It just seems like the carburetors aren't getting enough fuel or something along those lines. I currently have the fuel tank out and the carbs off but I'm not sure where to go from there. Any input would be much appreciated!

Steve which engine , outdrive do you have? Yes a carb rebuild, fresh fuel with clean fuel lines and a new fuel filter will definantly help. How is your ignition system? Plugs, wires, distributer. How about timing? The more detailed you get with your info the better the answers will be. :)
