73Johnson 135 tilt bracket for shallow running?

THis motor does not have tilt/trim. MAnual. THere is a u bracket that I tilt motor up an clamp to for trailering. I wonder though if that bracket is also dual purpose for shallow water running. Does anyone know or have a operators manual for this engine?

I bet that would put your motor too high out of the water. Only way I know is to try it and see where it sits in the water. Make sure it's deep enough for the water pick-ups.

Hi SCO.....the smaller motors have the shallow water bracket like you described. I looked at the parts break down and couldn't locate the bracket on your engine. It may be best to move the tilt pin out a couple holes. Not real sure on this one

It looks like it would work for that, doesn't tilt too much. Thanks for looking OBJ. Are you looking at microfiche? Would it help if I got the serial/model number?
