73'johnson 6hp/shifter shaft

I've got problem.I have a 6hp 73'johnson<br />I've taken the engine off.I can't get the shifter shaft out.Can anybody help?I need to remove the shaft to repair the shift lever/broken.

Hi Dang<br />If you have the shift shaft disconnected, It should just slide out. You allready knew that. Right? There is probably some corrosion built up in there that's holding it up. Try heating it up a little with a propane torch. There are some plastic bushings in there, Try not to burn them. You my have to sacrifice them. Just keep wiggling,pulling, and soaking. She'll come sooner or later. Take your time.
