'74 20hp plugs and carb kit

I will be rderinga manual on this motor, but until then, what are the correct plugs for it? Also, onyone know why you can't seem to get a carb kit for it? Only gasket kits.

NGK # BUHW-2 is the correct plug.<br />Depending on the serial number the Merc part # for the carb repair kit is 1399-5199 1 and runs about $55.00. Couldn't tell you what's in the kit though.<br /><br />Good Luck!

This may be a franken-motor, so the serial no. may not help. The carb ends in A1 (don't have the exact numbers with me.<br /><br />Thanks for the plug info, does that cross with anything from Champion? it has J-8J's in it which just don't seem right.
