'74 3.0 Mercruiser on a Winner Boat turns over, but won't spark

We have a 1974 Winner boat with a 3.0 Mercruiser engine that we purchased and cannot get it running. We just replaced the distributor cap, points, plugs, coil, battery and ignition switch. It will turn over, but it is not getting a spark to the coil is what we think. We used a spark tester on the coil and got no spark.

Any ideas or suggestions? I bought this boat for my wife and would really like to get it running for her.

I'd start by double and triple checking all the wiring for loose connections and/or bad wiring. It's definitely worth checking through all the wiring before putting any more money into it.
