Hello all, I just cleaned and rebuilt my carbs but I am not sure if I have the spring that goes between the throttle linkages and the choke installed properly. The throttle linkage kind of holds it in place but it seems a little loose to me. Does the part where it is bent on the right side of the first pic contact the choke linkage that is not hooked up yet? I don't want to be stuck when I put the carbs back on the motor so any help would be appreciated. Here are a couple of pics. Thanks...

No! Check a shop manual for spring orientation.

I have a shop manual although not the OEM version. It has served me well thus far but does not describe that spring. If you know the motor well enough to recognize that I have the spring installed incorrectly, could you not describe the proper orientation?

It needs to go on so the carb linkage is against the idle stop and the throttle plate is closed fully. Suggestion: next time take a digital picture before, makes re-assembly way easy.

Thanks for the reply. Would you believe that is the only item I didn't get a good picture of. Anyway, stopped at the local johnson shop and one of there guys confirmed that its on right. He even got the manual out to be sure. I shot him 5 bucks to get a beer. Thanks for your help
